Design and Look :

The Device's weight is 154 gms with battery and dimensions are 71.94mm x 141.33mm x 8.87mm. Canvas Nitro comes with a Pro Look. It's Back cabinet is leather finished, but actually made up of plastic..

It's a dual SIM smart phone, both SIM slots are micro SIM. There are no markings on the SIM slots or the icon showing the proper way to insert the SIM. 3G is supported only on one SIM slot at a time..

It's build qualities, H/W Design and finishing is very good. It's corners are rounded and has 3 Stylish touch button on the front side bottom. Audio jack 3.5  is on the top for head phones , has micro USB at the bottom side, volume buttons on the left side and power button on the right side.

It's touch screen is IPS capacitive LCD display of size 5 inches supporting 1280 x 720 pixels of resolution. The screen is not totally scratch resistant so better use the screen guard that is provided in the box. Color reproduction, viewing angles are really nice. Touch is smooth and responsive.

The Canvas Nitro A310 comes with 2GB RAM (899 MB free on first boot) and 8GB storage (5.3GB available for apps). OTG is not supported, External storage can be set as primary.

Performance

The Nitro A310 is using the cortex A7 MediaTek True Octa Core chipset – MT6592 coupled with Mali 450 MP4 GPU. Performance is really good,  lag free and smooth experience. This octa core is clocked over 1.7GHz cortex A7 processor chip.

Camera and Entertainment

It has got 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The camera quality is very nice at this price, though low light shots (in door) are not that good. You can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. Gesture shots are supported and the camera can be launched quickly from the home screen menu. The stable shot option will click the image only when the handset is stable. There is front / back camera option which is pretty interesting. It makes use of both the front and the rear camera. So you can shoot part of the image with rear camera and another part with the front camera. The LED flash is not that effective. Nitro A310 can play full HD 1080p videos.

Gaming

I have installed the Asphalt 8 and Fifa 14 games. Both the games got installed on the internal storage. Game play was smooth. That experience was really awesome, Asphalt 8 was able to play in HD visual playing mode.

Issues Found :

• Headphones quality is not upto the mark, Even high bitrate (320kbps) music sounds Low compare to Samsung Smart Phones, Surround sound is good, Bass effect is less. It's phone sound is good , it is loud and clear (both speaker / In call speaker) For voice calls.
•  3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth are working well.
•  1 bug was found with my device that, As I told you before, I had installed Asphalt 8 And FiFa 14. both ware working Awesome just after they ware installed on phone storage. Then I have restarted my device to insert memory card, And guess what ? That games again tried to download Game data (OBB) File, That Large files were automatically deleted but still space was allocated to that files..so My memory storage became full with no reason. File explorer showed me empty "android/obb/" Folder. Need to factory reset device, So my advice to you is insert your memory card before installing these kind of big HD games which run on OBB files. This issue might not same for all devices. so please don't judge this phone bad. may be your device work well.
•  We can not change font's style of this device officially from settings, Any 3rd party app from play store may help you to do so,
• It's back Side is flat, so if you keep the phone on a flat surface it will block the speaker sound.
• We Can not hide applications from App Drawer, And Can not Remove Quick Look window from home screen because it is emulated with default android launcher3. so you may use other third party launcher (S Launcher - My suggestion) to solve this problem. you can buy this if you're "Okay" with these factors. Doing this may remove blink screen feature but it will save your Mobile Internet Data.
• OTG is not supported with "Stock ROM" that means you can not Mount/ Access USB storage i.e Pendrives. but it's not a big issue, You can set your external storage (Memory card) as primary read / wright device. or you can install "Stick Mount" or other USB mounting OTG apps to detect USB Storage drives. Rooting device might help you or you may Google other solutions for that.
• Battery backup is really good, may be about 24 hours but it drains quickly when it's percent reaches 30-40%, may be that percentages are showing wrong. so please ignore that and try to judge it from its uptime hours (near 1 Day).

This handset is also loaded with some new features listed below.

Blink Screen : It is a new style for notification, that you will see the bar in Blue, Red or Green color over lock screen. It will show the alerts and missed calls. You can tap the icon to directly move on to the respective app. where red for E-mail, Green is for WhatsApp, blue is for facebook, phonecalls, messages etc.

 

QuickLook : There is a special section on the home page that takes over the full screen. You will get the date, time, weather and the latest news all in one screen.

Smart Gesture : This option enables you to  make your device more convenient to use. (pinch in, pinch out etc).

In the Display Brightness settings, there is economical back light option in manual mode. I prefer the auto mode. However in Auto mode the brightness drops too low in low light condition, some may not find it uncomfortable. It is even lower than the minimum manual brightness level. But this option really improves the battery backup.

Battery

The Nitro comes with 2500 mAh removable battery that does a pretty outstanding job considering the Octa core Processor with high end processes.

The battery backup is just too nice, I am still checking the battery and will keep posted. Yesterday at 4:10PM battery was at 100%. Full,  I used the handset for the review and now it is 5:22PM (more than 24 hours) and battery is at 23%. I am waiting for the handset to shut down on it’s own to get a better idea – However the battery performance so it looks far better than other 1.7GHz 8 Core powered Devices.

Conclusion :

The Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 is a very great deal for INR. 12,990 (Approx USD$210). It has octa core processor with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. Though there are limitations, may be buggy software wise you won't satisfy with Micromax but it is worth hardware device at this price, For software, there are millions of apps are available in market that can replace stock Apps, and If you are fine with this and looking for an octa core device at this price, The A310 is a very good budget option, for now.

Update of the year 2015 : This Phone is one of the Highest Configuration Cheap Hardware but Micromax has also launched NEW version of this smart phone Named "Micromax Canvas Nitro A311" nearly at same price. you would like to checkout that, which has all the features same with Maximized Internal Memory and ROM. You may notice that other Model "Micromax Canvas Knight A350" is also getting its price less day by day it's also the best smart phone in current Mobile Market.
